The Daughters of Charity celebrate their Vincentian Charism and their Internationality

The Daughters of Charity in the Province of Ireland gathered on Sunday 7 May 2017 to celebrate the 400th Anniversary of the Birth of the Vincentian Charism.  The sisters were addressed by Fr Guillermo Campuzano CM, who is the Vincentian representative at the United Nations.  His topic, Hearts open beyond our boundaries: the Daughters of Charity in a global Vincentian Family. Fr Guillermo’s passionate and energetic presentation was challenging, encouraging and inspiring. He gave all present a sense of hope, peace and renewed enthusiasm for living the Vincentian Charism into the future.

The sisters were addressed in the afternoon by Sr Catherine Prendergast.  She is the Daughter of Charity representative at the United Nations.

Sr Ellen Flynn and Sr Kathleen Kennedy from the Province of Great Britain joined the sisters for the day’s celebrations.

The day was brought to a close in our celebration of the Eucharist. During the Eucharist the work of the sisters in some 23 countries was visually represented in the flags of the countries being placed on the Altar.
